Claim Guardians was developed from a simple problem: complex cases can contain enormous amounts of information, while the evidence that changes the outcome may be buried almost anywhere within it.
The system was built to help professionals find that evidence, understand the case and work through it systematically.
The story behind Claim Guardians
A difficult insurance claim exposed the problem
In 2023, a fire at co-founder Claire's home led to a long and complex insurance claim. The experience showed first-hand how difficult it can be to understand a case when important information is spread across policy documents, correspondence, reports, photographs and other evidence.
Claire's background in compliance and legal roles meant she understood both the human consequences and the professional challenge: making sense of a large body of information, establishing what had happened and finding the evidence that mattered.
That experience became part of the starting point for Claim Guardians.
Building the technology
Stephen brought more than 25 years' experience developing software for financial services, including work with the Financial Times, ABN AMRO and RBS, as well as building and selling two technology businesses.
Together, Claire and Stephen began developing a system capable of analysing complex case material at scale while keeping the evidence and professional judgement at the centre of the process.
That work became Claim Guardians.

The ambition is not to remove the professional from the case. It is to give them a far better command of it.
